MGO™ 550+ Manuka Honey is certified to contain at least 550mg/kg of dietary Methylglyoxal a natural compound found in significant quantities in only some Manuka Honey. As Methylglyoxal is the active compound directly responsible for the antibacterial activity of Manuka honey, the higher the Methylglyoxal content of MGO™ Manuka Honey, the stronger the antibacterial activity.

 

The University of Dresden’s (Germany) tests have found a minimum 100mg/kg of dietary methylglyoxal is required to be of benefit.
